My MA question in London at CSM MA Applied Imagination in the creative industries:
How can we track being honest with ourselves? This question in a set with others is addressed to actors and other professionals from the performing arts. The ability of performing arts and their representatives to take on responsibility for emotional education is being questioned. As well as a personally driven human-based everyday struggle, this also is a problem in the world of art. Because what they do professionally is act upon others and themselves, in this project actors are interviewed and filmed while being asked about integrity, sincerity and authenticity in the context of their profession; where does it stand in-between their profession and their personal, inner human life? Relations and possible rules between these two components are being analysed in company with participants of the project, moving on from one interview to another trying to pursue shifts in understanding how honesty functions and what improvements can bring to the table.

There’s a short funny notice I must provide to this: I was pulled out of bed on a Sat morning 8 a.m., being asked to stick around this shoot, ended up filming it with my shaking hungover hands, was the first time holding this type of camera (had only filmed with simpler ones before), everything seemed to work out well for the sake of the end product, as it seems..
